Blake Lively Talks Child Rescue Coalition And Stopping Pedophiles — Speech Revisted During The Coronavirus Pandemic

Blake Lively’s powerful speech given at the Variety Power of Women awards is being revisited due to the Coronavirus pandemic. First given in May 2017, Blake Lively addressed the issue of child pornography and highlighted the work of the Child Rescue Coalition in tracking and stopping pedophiles. The Child Rescue Coalition is based in Florida and provides tools used by law enforcement and others to save children from sexual abuse by real-time technology that tracks predators so they may be apprehended and prosecuted.

Blake first met Child Rescue Coalition CEO and founder Carly Asher Yoost when Yoost was named the L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth National Honoree in 2016. Since that meeting, Blake has been an avid supporter and proponent for the non-profit and their work. She has helped bring awareness to the organization and their vital work protecting children.

Carly Yoost released a statement about Blake Lively’s involvement with the Coalition.

“Child pornography has reached an epidemic level and we are committed to training law enforcement officers around the world to find the worst offenders. We are thrilled that Blake shares our commitment of rescuing children from online predators. Studies show that if a suspect is found with this type of sickening material, they are more likely to be hands-on abusers. We are grateful to Blake who understands the urgency to get these horrific offenders off the streets so we can protect children from further abuse.”

With the Coronavirus pandemic in full swing, schools have been shut down nationwide and many cities are still under lockdown. This has made more children vulnerable to the tactics of online predators as they are staying home and are using digital devices throughout the day.

Blake is married to Ryan Reynolds and together they have two daughters: James and Ines. She spoke about her love for her children and how she would do anything to keep them safe.

“I would do anything to protect them, I would literally die for them without a moment’s thought. I didn’t really know what child pornography as, I was afraid to ask what it was, as a mother, because it would be painful to hear. But I felt I had to ask, and I wanted to share with you. It is the truth, and I believe if we all knew this, we would dedicate much more of ourselves to stopping it.”
