Online streaming platform Netflix is now going to end the membership of customers who have not used PlayForm in the last one year.
Accounts not being used despite paying membership fees
According to the company, there are many accounts that are paying membership fees but they have not done any content streaming for the last one year. The company is sending notifications by emailing such accounts. The company said that it will check whether users want to continue the membership. If they do not respond, the company will cancel their membership.
The company’s director (product innovation) Eddie Wu, stating the reason behind the move, said that this is being done to make the company’s goodwill among customers. He said, “We hope that people will be able to save their hard-earned money in this new way.”
According to Wu, it will not put much burden on the company as their number is just a few lakhs or 0.5%. The company has already included it in its financial guidance.
Users will be able to subscribe to Netflix later
Wu said that if a user wants to subscribe to Netflix later, they will be able to easily subscribe again. According to the company’s statement, the company will retain the favorites of any member account, different profiles and choice of content for the next 10 months. So that if a member wants to start his account again, then he gets his account in the old state.
The company added 16 million new subscribers in three months

As a result, Netflix’s revenue base has seen a large increase in its subscriber base. According to a recently released report, in the first quarter of the year 2020, the number of subscribers of Netflix has increased by about 16 million.
At the same time, 16 million new subscribers have been added to the Netflix platform in the last three months. Netflix has a total of 182.8 million (18.2 million) subscribers, which is more than any entertainment service in the world
